Abstract

College education is a very important part ofstudents’ life.A student's academic performance plays an important role in determining the next stage of their education, it shapes their lives.Higher levels of academic stress at this stage can have adverse effects, which can be chronic and lasting.The main aim of the present study was to examine the academic stress among undergraduate students.815 undergraduate students participated in the study. The tool was a questionnaire prepared after analysing the various aspects of academic stress and stratified sampling technique was adopted for the study, t-test and analysis of variance were the statistical analysis carried out to analyse the data. Results indicated that significant difference existed among the female and male undergraduate students.Students need to know how to handle academic pressure within themselves.
